Joel Wealer

Co-Principal Horn

Joel Wealer, French Horn, has been a member of The United States Air Force Band in Washington, DC since 2002.  In 1998 Joel earned a bachelor's degree in music performance from Missouri State University.  Following that, he earned his master's degree in music performance from The University of Michigan.  While in Michigan, Joel freelanced in many ensembles including Warren Symphony, Birmingham Bloomfield Symphony, Jackson Symphony, Ann Arbor Symphony, and Windsor Symphony. His teachers include Ann Ley, Dave Everson, Soren Hermannson, and Silvia Alimena.  Joel now lives in Owings, Maryland with his wife Jennifer and children Jackie, Josie, and Jamison. For the past fifteen years, Joel has been playing racquetball two to three times a week. When he is not answering his phone, you can almost bet that he is on the court hitting around that racquetball!
