Mary Dausch
Principal Viola
Mary Dausch grew up in Washington, DC and is a graduate of the DC Youth Orchestra and NSO Youth Fellowship Program. She received her Bachelor of Music Performance from San Francisco Conservatory in 1999 and her Master of Music from Rice University in 2001. Mary moved back to the DC area in 2003 and began her career as a freelance musician. She is now the principal violist of Amadeus Orchestra and of Apollo Orchestra. She also plays in Virginia Chamber Orchestra and Arlington Symphony. She freelances with ensembles that include Washington Concert Opera, Cathedral Choral Society, and Maryland Symphony, among others. She teaches private violin and viola lessons out of her home studio. Mary currently resides in Silver Spring, MD with her husband and four children. She plays on a viola made in 2014 by Dalton Potter.
