Olivia Ren
Violin I
Violinist Olivia Ren began her musical studies in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She received her B.A. in violin performance from Case Western Reserve University, in association with the Cleveland Institute of Music, and her M.M in violin performance from the University of Maryland. Her primary teachers include Hong-guang Jia, Carol Ruzicka, and James Stern. She has previously performed with the Brevard Music Center Orchestra, the National Orchestra Institute Philharmonic, the Monteux Festival Orchestra, and the AIMS Graz Festival Orchestra. Currently, she is section first violin in the Apollo Orchestra, and freelances with various orchestras in the DC metro area, including soloing with the Capital City Symphony. She also maintains a large and diverse teaching studio. When not performing or teaching, Olivia can be found reading, playing a board game with her friends, or spending time with her two cats.
