Talya Schenk

Viola

Violist, Talya Schenk is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at The Catholic University of America under the direction of Karin Brown. She has studied with Rita Porfiris, Maria Lambros, and Kimberly Sparr. Talya earned a Master of Music at the Hartt School, and a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Talya performs with the Takoma Ensemble in addition to the Apollo Orchestra. She maintains an active private studio of viola and violin students. Outside of music, Talya enjoys folk dancing, political dramas, and spending time with her family and dog Molly.
